SFC Headquarters
Compound
Any well-run operation must have a central
headquarters. With this in mind, a Special Headquarters Compound
is being established in an area outside the city of Kajokeji
in southern Sudan, not too far from the Romogi SFC farm.
This
large compound will serve as:
The Administrative Centre for all SFC farms
with an adequate office building with all the necessary office
equipment to efficiently serve the needs of the growing number
of SFC farms, now in existence, and those yet to be established.
This secure compound will also have the following
buildings and facilities:
a. Housing for the General Manager
b. Housing for the Accountant/Secretary
c. Several Guest Houses for visiting officials, both Board
Members and other guests such as Government officials, volunteer
farmers from North America, monitors representing the donor
agencies and other foreign guests.
d. A kitchen and dining room/communal room, serving also as
a seminar centre.
e. A Central Warehouse for incoming materials and supplies
shipped from overseas, as well as supplies of lubricants,
seeds, small tools for distribution to the farms, spare parts
for tractors and ancillary machinery, generators not in current
use etc.
f. A Central Warehouse for processing, storing and distributing
produce from the various SFC farms.
g. A Central Workshop for repairs and maintenance of all tractors
and vehicles belonging to the Savannah Farmers Cooperative
Company.
h. Sheds and shelters for all vehicles and equipment not in
current use at one of the SFC farms.
i. A soil testing facility to serve both the SFC farms as
well as small landowners who need the services to determine
their soil’s properties and potential.
j. Sanitary facilities for staff and visitors.
The compound will be under the direct supervision
of the General Manager.
This compound is currently being designed
and will be built and in service before the end of the year
2007.
